European Added Value Checklist/ Guidelines:

Critical mass:
• Did the project involve shared transnational access to research facilities?

Reduction of research risk:
• Did working in a trans-national consortium help firms in the project to lower the risks related to R&D, thus enabling the research to take place?

Reduction of commercial risk:
• Did the project involve key EU industry players and help to ensure that research results and solutions are applicable across Europe and beyond (e.g. through the development of EU- and world-wide standards and interoperable solutions)?

Improving S&T capabilities:
• Did the participation in the project help some research teams to develop their S&T capabilities in specific fields (i.e. by linking with top trans-national teams, and benefiting from learning and synergies)?

Pan-European challenges:
• Did the project address a challenge that is clearly shared by Member States (e.g. environment, health, food safety, climate change)?
• Did it involve the establishment of a common scientific base?
• Did it involve the establishment of uniform laws and standards?

EU scale dissemination of results:
• Did the project produce a wider dissemination of results than would have been possible under a national programme?
• Has the consortium expanded dissemination to the wider public with e.g. short videos, educational material, articles in the non-specialised press, etc.?
